I live in the lovely seaside village of Goring-by-sea with my husband, my 3 daughters and my dog. Life during lockdown in 2020 was crazy for all, my family included. We were lucky enough to be living at mum’s during the pandemic, so lockdown meant I was with most of my nearest and dearest. I am grateful for this everyday – I know others weren’t so lucky.

So, boredom and loneliness weren’t really a problem, but overwhelm and craving some normality was. This is where my love for macramé came in. If it all got too much, I would take some time away from the many people in the house, and create something from a reel of cotton. The satisfaction and joy that came with making something from nothing gave me a real buzz and helped me during this period.

I now class macramé as a real passion of mine and am constantly challenging myself with bigger and more complex designs. Now we are living during a real economic downturn, cost of living crisis etc. I have decided to turn my passion into a way of making some extra pennies to spend on precious family moments.
